TagBrush

Image
artist statement: I used my black and white logo to make a tag brush with a clear mark where the play button is. what I was trying to show is that someone had pressed the play button so hard that it broke, representing pressing play in life and not slowing down. The color scheme I used was made to represent a stoplight. A stop light is something that most humans will stop for and I think this is a perfect representation of my logo as you should never want to slow down in life but for some things, you must. every once in a while you should take in the enjoyment in life and be happy with where you are, but not for too long. That's when the stop light turns green or you press the play button and you must start moving forward again.

Ps HW 1

the Crop Tool seems the easiest to learn for a beginner. The video I found shows how to simply click and drag to select an area and then hit enter to crop the image. This would be helpful for situations like fixing photos or focusing on specific parts. Out of all the tools I researched this seems to be the easiest to use. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aoeM2nVRyc The brush tool I will use more often and it seems more complex than the crop tool. the video talks about creating custom brushes which would make it easier to find and keep the color you are looking for. you use the Brush tool for painting or drawing on photos, and adding details. The video seems good for starting out because it covers the basics of the tool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WP5OO97ZxIk The Gradient Tool was the third video I watched and it seems to be the hardest to use out of all of them. The video talks about the basics of the tool and how to get started and talks about how this tool can be difficult ...

Lamb SelfPortrait Propaganda

Image
Artist statement: My inspiration for this propaganda poster was the ski mask ban in Philadelphia, which started in December 2023. This was put into effect due to all the stealing from retail stores going on which caused some locations of stores like Walmart and CVS to close their doors to the city of Philadelphia. I believe stealing is wrong and we must do everything in our power to keep it from turning into a problem such as wearing a ski mask while entering a private business or school area. I do not believe that ski masks should be banned for good as they do serve a purpose in things such as winter sports and Halloween costumes. The reason I chose this particular type of propaganda is because my parents are small business owners who have been stolen from and it truly does have an effect on day-to-day business. I chose the colors grey blue and red to symbolize police colors and a jail cell as well as to catch the eye of somebody walking by as blue and red are popping colors. When...

Lamb Logo

Image
My inspiration for the logo I designed for myself was my drive. In life, you never want to be in one place for too long or "hit the pause button" as my art depicts. One of the colors I chose for my final design was red to represent passion and also knowing not to hit the red button and slow down. The inspiration for my green and yellow logo was to show that the only option in life is to continue on and that is why the play button is in green. For my 3rd design, it was meant to depict a scene from the movie "The Matrix." In this scene, a character in the film is asked to choose between and red and a blue pill. the blue pill makes everything dormant and he goes back to normal but if he takes the red pill he will continue on and find out why he is truly there. I chose this because my art shows only two options, to press play or press pause.

Lamb_Calligramme

Image
Artist statement: I was asked to make a letter to my future self and create a calligramme out of it. A calligramme is words formed in a way to make a shape, usually relating to the writing. The main focus of my writing was my future plans to start a business. So for my calligramme, I decided to make my words into a tall building to symbolize the future growth of not just my business but my entire life. one of the most readable and biggest texts is me stating"I want to learn what it takes to start said business and learn." By including this I wanted to make it clear that I do not want to be handed anything and want to grow my business my own way and shape. The tools I used to make this were the text tool in Illustrator, the rectangle tool, and the pen tool to make alignments. Although it may look a little bland from the outside, the inside tells a story of my hopes and dreams. letter to me Dear future self, I hope this letter finds you in a state of peace, surrounded by the co...
